Reworld™ Hosts Wyandanch PAL Summer Camp
July 31, 2024
Reworld™ Hempstead employees were thrilled to host the Wyandanch Summer Camp at the facility in Westbury. Throughout the day, children learned about learned about the lifecycle of trash, as well as the important role that recycling plays in everyday life. Maureen Early, a Lead Community Relations Specialist describes the experience, in which, "They were all amazed to witness the football field sized pit of garbage. We spent some time speaking out the import role we all play with recycling, reuse and reducing the amount of garbage we produce. We also touched on the harmful effects pollutants have on our environment and our precious marine life. The children loved the stencil craft of their favorite sea creature which they were excited to bring home. At the end of the day, each of the kids were given a supply filled backpack which they were extremely grateful for."
Reworld™ thanks Officer Dara and the team from Precinct #1 to be able to host the children and give them such a great opportunity.
